Kids Robot Birthday Cards

For this week's Freshly Made Sketch #133 I decided to finally break out this fun stamp set, Robot Family, with a couple of kids birthday cards! The paper is from a retired CTMH pack called You Rock. It was one of the first sets I bought as a consultant and I am determined to use every square inch of it! If you don't have it in your stash Pro-Player would make a great substitute!

I wanted to use the gear stamp that's included with the set so I stamped it a few times with Grey Flannel Ink on the inside and then stamped and matted the sentiment on another piece of B&T from the pack.

Robot Family Stamp Set (C1385)
I colored the robots using watercolor pencils. The circle on the card was cut with my Cricut Artiste Cartridge using the card feature and <i>. It was cut at 5" and trimmed in half.

Supplies Used (All CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper: You Rock (retired), Indian Corn Blue Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock
Stamps: Robot Family (C1583)
Ink: Black, Grey Flannel
Other: White Daisy Bulk Cards & Envelopes, Cricut Artiste, Watercolor Pencils

Thanks for looking!

The Blogging Blues??

Don't you hate when you get on a roll and then something happens and it all comes to a screeching halt? That's what it feels like with me and blogging lately. Actually, it's not just blogging but crafting in general right now. It's not for a lack of wanting to create. I have so many ideas running through my head it's kind of overwhelming.

High Fashion...NOT!

I recently had surgery to get my deviated septum fixed. It's a very common problem with a pretty smooth recovery. And, I'm happy to say I've recovered nicely and can finally breath. Yeah!!

So what's the problem? Well, in one word: SLEEP

See, normally most of my creating happens in the wee hours of the morning when I wake up at 2 or 3 am. Everyone's asleep. The house is dark. I gingerly sneak down the stairs hoping not to step on a toy and steal a few quiet moments in my happy place before my alarm goes off at 5 when I get ready for work.

But now, for once, I'm actually sleeping. I know it's a good thing for my body and mind but it's really causing a wrinkle in my crafting time. I miss it! Hopefully I'll figure out this new pattern soon and get back to creating and blogging.

Religious Easter Card

It's been awhile since I've been in my craft room and boy does it feel good to create! The minute I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do! This card is going to my Grandma.

To make this card I embossed a piece of Colonial White Cardstock using the Quatrefoil Embossing plate and rounded the top two corners with my corner rounder. Next I stamped the cross in Chocolate Ink and added it to the card with 3D Foam Tape. Before I adhered the top of the cross I added a piece of coordinating purple ribbon from my stash.

The stamp is from Greatest Love (B1444). It has beautiful religious sentiments that I think would work well for both Easter or sympathy cards.

I hope my Grandma likes it! Thanks for checking it out.

April Newsletter: Discover the Art of Business!

Happy April! Hope the Spring is hitting your area and you're able to enjoy some warmer weather and outside time. I've been stuck inside recovering from surgery (nothing serious) but hope to get out there next week.

Despite the recovery I still plan on having Creative Club this Friday, April 11th. We will be making cards and I'll show you some fun techniques to use with our embossing folders! I have a couple of spots open so if you can make it I'd love to have you.

It's taken me a little longer than anticipated to set up my new scrapbook class. Thanks for your patience and stay tuned. I'm really excited to get this started! The best part is that you don't have to be local to participate! I'll have a home kit option for those that may not live in Northern VA.

Have a wonderful April! I'm hoping to get back to my craft room soon!
