February Creative Club - Hello Lovely!

Are you behind on your scrapbooking or want to add some new handmade cards to your stash? If so, you're invited to join me and my friends for Creative Club! Simply bring your basic crafting supplies and get ready to enjoy a relaxing evening of fun conversation and a whole lotta laughs!

Each month we focus on a brand new paper packet from Close to my Heart. This month we are featuring Hello Lovely, a beautiful mix of floral and neutral patterns great for any celebration. Simply choose between the scrapbooking option OR the card option.

The class will be held at my home on Friday, February 17th at 7pm. RSVP's are needed no later than 2/9 to ensure adequate time for delivery and prep.

Scrapbook Option:

With the scrapbook kit you will make three, 2-page layouts complete with embellishments! Your kit will include:

• Base pages
• Pre-cut papers
• A full pack of Hello Lovely Complements
• Glitter Gems
• Blush Shimmer Ribbon
• Layout Instruction guide

Card-Making Option:

With the card making kit you will make 9 cards, three each of three designs! Your kit will include:

• Card bases and envelopes
• pre-cut papers
• Glitter Gems
• Blush Shimmer Ribbon
• Use of my coordinating stamps, inks, and coordinating Thin Cuts

Deluxe Option:

Want to make it all? No problem. Just choose the Deluxe Kit and you will get a complete package of everything you need to complete all the layouts and cards! 

Cost of the workshop is $15 ($30 for the deluxe kit) and will include everything you need to complete the project. All papers will be pre-cut for you. Simply bring your favorite adhesives and let's have fun!

May's Card-A-Thon Card: Mother's Day

Great card sketches make me super happy and this week's Mojo Monday sketch is no exception! I knew it would fit perfectly for the May card in my Card-A-Thon - A Year of Cards class this Saturday, February 7th!

February Card-A-Thon Class

On Saturday, Feb 7 at 10 am I will be hosting another Card-A-Thon class! I love these classes and hope you'll be able to join me! This month's Card-A-Thon theme is A Year of Cards. I've designed 12 different cards for you to choose from all based on a holiday for each month of the year. I'll be sharing all the cards throughout the week but here's a sampling of what's available to choose from:

Here's how it works...you'll have two hours to make as many cards as you can! Everything will be pre-cut and ready to make. Simply take each card box to your station and create! If you like a particular card feel free to make more of it (just be mindful of others who may want to make it as well). The only "rule" is that you must completely finish the card before moving on to the next one. The only supplies you'll need are your adhesive and VersaMat. The cost for this class is $15 or free with any $50 CTMH order!

Vinyl Glass Block Class

I've received a lot of positive feedback with my lighted glass blocks and am now offering it as a class! If you are in the Northern VA area please join me on November 22 at 10 am to make either the "Welcome Scroll" or "Split Monogram*" glass block!

These blocks are perfect additions to your home decor or make great gifts for family, friends, and teachers!

*The full alphabet is available for the monogram option. Please specify name preference when you RSVP. (I'm working on creating a photo of the full monogram alphabet and will edit this post when I have it available.)

This class will include the following:

• (1) pre-frosted 8" x 8" glass block
• (1) set of 20 plug in lights
• pre-designed vinyl in your choice of either "Welcome Scroll" OR "Split Monogram" 
• Transfer tape
• Use of my Cricut Machine and Cricut tools

The scroll and monogram will be cut in black and you will have a limited selection of color vinyl colors to choose from for the interior words.

Card-A-Thon Kits Available for Purchase

 

 

On Saturday I hosted a Card-A-Thon making session at my house. Right now you might be thinking, "What's Card-A-Thon?" Let me explain. It's my version of a bulk card making session where I do all the prep work and you get a specific amount of time to make as many cards as you can!

 

I have a few card kits left that are available for purchase. Each kit will come with the following items to complete 10 cards (A2 size):

• Pre-cut papers
• Card bases and envelopes
• Pre-stamped images
• All accessories to complete the cards
• Printed Color Tip Sheet on how to complete your cards
• Bonus item

Card kits are $15 each (shipping included in price). To complete the cards you will need adhesive, 3D Foam Tape (optional), Paper Piercer, Glue Dots.

May Creative Club

 

If you've ever browsed cards on Pinterest then you've probably seen the pop-up box cards! Looks complicated right? Let me show you how easy it is as we make this month's project at Creative Club! We'll be using the Balloon Ride paper pack as well as the Give A Lift stamp set. I'll also show you some easy coloring techniques using your ink pads, waterbrush, and watercolor pencils!

Class is this Friday, May 9th 7 pm in my home (Northern VA). Cost is $5 or free with a $30 purchase.

A Look Inside of Creative Night

I have been very fortunate over the last few years to host a monthly creative night at my house. Often times I get asked how my club nights work so I thought I'd share a few photos from last Friday's event.

This month I had several new guests...some with cardmaking experience and some completely new! Here is one of my attendees with her first-ever cards! She did an amazing job and I think she may be hooked!

As far as projects go I like to change it up each month. Sometimes we make cards and other times we crate small home decor items or mini-albums. Whatever we do I focus on a specific paper pack from CTMH and one or two techniques to try.

This month's project used Lollydoodle and Washi Tape:

Each attendee receives all the supplies needed (minus adhesive) to create the project as well as color-printed, step-by-step instructions. Here's a snippet of the this month's instructions:

Next month we will be working with Skylark and embossing folders! I would love for you to join me at my next Creative Night (Friday, April 11). If you are in the Northern Virginia area and would like to attend please contact me or visit my Meetup group, Manassas Area Papercrafters.

Non-local friends can always join in on the fun with mailed home kits! You may not be able to join me in person but you'll receive the same materials and create in the comfort of your own home.

Updated January Club Project...And I L-O-V-E it!

 

Well, my project for January was all ready to go but a shipping delay means my extra supplies won't be here in time for club this Friday, Jan 10.

So, what's a girl to do? I could have easily cried myself into a panicked frenzy or I could do what any resourceful crafter (because really all crafters are pretty resourceful in my opinion) would do and raid my stash to come up with a new project!

This month I'll show you how to transform your Christmas paper into a fun Valentine bag and pop-up card! Both projects are courtesy of the AMAZING Artiste Cricut Cartridge...no fussy cutting here!

January Creative Club

Next Friday, 1/10/14 I will be hosting Creative Club in Northern VA. We'll be making two cards using the fun Circle Spin Cards and super affordable M-sized stamp sets. I hope you can join me for a fun evening with some great ladies!

October 2013 Creative Club

This is what my club is making at this month's Creative Club! We are using the Laughing Lola paper pack and the Puns of Praise Stamp set to make this adorable purse and mini-card set.

Creative Club is always the 2nd Friday of each month at 7 pm. If you are in the Northern VA area I'd love to have you attend. Non-local friends can also participate with mailed take-home kits!

June 2013 Creative Club

Father's Day is just around the corner and I've got a special workshop to celebrate!

This month I will show you how to create the shirt card found on your Cricut Artiste as well as the new Clear Pillow Boxes. Oh, and we can't forget the fun mustache card! Can you believe all of this is only $5??!!

We'll be using the Perfect Fit-Dad's stamp set but if you prefer to make birthday cards I will have the Perfect Fit-Birthday stamp set available too!
