Mojo Monday #291

I'm currently taking an online card class called His & Hers.  The class gives ideas and tips on how to take a single technique, product, sketch, etc and use it for both genders. On the first day they talk about using the same sketch on both cards. I took the challenge and used Mojo Monday Sketch #291 to create Mother's and Father's Day Cards!

Both cards use the exact same sketch, dimensions, and embellishments (3D Foam Tape and ribbon accents). Although similar, the stamp sets are two different ones -- Perfect Fit Dad (C1542) and Perfect Fit Mom (C1543)

Mother's Day Card:

I'm in Love with the Chantilly paper pack and have some great projects I'm working on for Mother's Day! The burlap ribbon is pretty easy to work with. But, to be consistent with the size of my male card I trimmed the ribbon in half. Like all Burlap it tends to fray a bit so I first adhered it to a piece of scrap cardstock then trimmed it to give it a little more stability!

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper: Chantilly, Blush Cardstock, White Daisy Cardstock
Stamps: Perfect Fit Mom
Ink: Blush, Sweet Leaf
Other: Burlap Ribbon, 3D Foam Tape

Father's Day Card:

My dad likes to build ships so I knew the Tommy Paper was perfect for him! The ribbon used on this card is a fantastic chevron ribbon in Navy Blue...so many great uses with this stuff!

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper: Outdoor Denim Cardstock, Tommy B&T, White Daisy Cardstock
Stamps: Perfect Fit Dad
Ink: Outdoor Denim, Cranberry
Other: Chevron Ribbon, 3D Foam Tape

  1. Love your cards. They look so different, yet are so alike.
