Little Critters Birthday Card

I really can't get enough of these adorable little critters! And the best part is that I don't have to fussy cut them since they come with coordinating thin cuts dies that fit perfectly. 

The bunny was colored with a combination of ShinHan markers blended together. I'm certainly no coloring expert but I'm trying! The card sketch is based on Mojo Monday Sketch #434.

Just Married Card

Here's a simple, but blingy, wedding card I made to celebrate my cousin's recent nuptials! The paper pack is called Heartstrings and is only available until the end of this month.

A Lollydoodle Birthday Card - Mojo Monday 333

I've been having so much fun with Washi Tape that I decided to make another birthday card with it! The paper, Lollydoodle, is quickly becoming one of my favorites from the Spring/Summer Idea Book.

I kept the inside pretty simple only adding a small piece of leftover Washi tape to the inside corner.

To stamp the image I curved the sentiment on my clear block, using the cutout as a guide. The sketch is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch #333.

Technique Blog Hop - Washi Tape

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! This month there are 12 of us highlighting Washi Tape!

So, you've probably heard of Washi tape but still might be confused on what it is. And no, I'm not accidentally misspelling wasabi, one of my favorite sushi condiments! Basically washi tape is really pretty masking tape. It's thin, translucent, repositionable and oh so fun to use!

Lollydoodle Paper

So, what's the point of using it over paper? It took me a while to answer that question myself. I like it because it's a super quick way to add variety to lots of projects...anything from candles and switch plate covers to cards scrapbook layouts, an folder tabs!

Timberline Paper

My favorite part though is that I can make bulk cards and tags super quickly without pulling out a lot of supplies. Both cards I made today use this week's Mojo Monday sketch. I started out with my basic supplies and ended up with some really fantastic and quick 5" x 7" birthday cards.

Tag Close Up

To make the tags I simply tore strips of washi tape and adhered them to my tags wrapping the edges around the back. I finished the tags with a some shimmer trim for some added bling and added a few embellishments for some extra pop! Here's what the tags looks liked before I added them to the cards:

If you'd like to make a card similar to mine here are my measurements:

• 10" x 7" piece of cardstock folded at 5" to create a card base
• Mat a 4" x 6" piece of pattern paper to a 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock
• Add a 1" x 5" strip of coordinating paper in center of card. 
• Decorate tag with washi tape and adhere to center of card
• Embellish as desired

Mojo Monday Sketch:

Birthday Card - MojoMonday 328

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch to create this quick and easy birthday card. It's going to my son's friend so I kept things very simple with a little tone-on-tone stamping.

The center square is a leftover chipboard piece from the Canvas WOTG a few months ago. The colors fit perfectly with the Pro-Player paper pack.

This is a standard A2 card. If you would like to re-create my measurements were 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" (B&T), 2 1/4" x 4" (Cardstock), 2" x 2" (Center Square).

A Mix & Match Birthday Card

It's contest week at MojoMonday and in keeping with my 2014 goals I'm participating! This card uses a combination of Sarita papers and embellishments from the Babycakes Line. The scallop piece was cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartrige at 2 1/2" (p. 77).

I usually have a hard time mixing lines, but CTMH makes it easy with coordinating and complementing products. Now I need to step out of my comfort zone and use paper from different packs!

Mojo Monday 309 & You Are My Happy

Yesterday's post featured a beautiful sentiment from the You Are My Happy National Scrapbooking Month special. Today I decided to use one of the many images as the focal point and create this fun birthday card using Mojo Monday Sketch #309. 

The paper is from Spring's Chantilly set and since it was a girly birthday card I added some bling in the form of glitter paper! It adds the perfect finishing touch without going over the top. The circle frame was created with the Artiste cartridge.

I couldn't ignore the inside of this card so I added a sentiment from the You Are My Happy set. I like that the sentiment doesn't scream birthday so that it can be used for other occasions as well.

Mojo Monday #300 & Flakey Friends

It's been hot and humid (with lots of rain) so I thought I'd cool things off a bit with a winter card this week. It didn't really work but a girl's gotta try right? I used Mojo Monday's sketch this week. It's their 300th and in honor of it they are giving away 30 prizes from various sponsors.

I used a retired pack, Wonderland, for this card. I started off by using my CTMH ruler and stitch guide to create faux stitching around the edge. The "stitches" were created using the .2 tip pen that's available on the While Supplies Last section of my site. It was a bargain and I couldn't resist! The image was colored with alcohol markers and finished off with some Sparkles and Glitz Glitter Glue.

Boy Birthday Card

It's contest week at Mojo Monday so I thought I'd play along. My son's 10th birthday is next month and I've been wanting to use the In Gear stamp set I purchased just for the occasion. Once I saw this sketch I knew it was a match made in heaven! 

The images coordinate beautifully with cuts from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge. The sentiment is from Perfect Fit-Birthday which works great with our 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I finished off the card with some Washi Tape and Epoxy Bubbles.

Mojo Monday #291

 I'm currently taking an online card class called His & Hers.  The class gives ideas and tips on how to take a single technique, product, sketch, etc and use it for both genders. On the first day they talk about using the same sketch on both cards. I took the challenge and used Mojo Monday Sketch #291 to create Mother's and Father's Day Cards!

Both cards use the exact same sketch, dimensions, and embellishments (3D Foam Tape and ribbon accents). Although similar, the stamp sets are two different ones -- Perfect Fit Dad (C1542) and Perfect Fit Mom (C1543). 

Mother's Day Card:

I'm in Love with the Chantilly paper pack and have some great projects I'm working on for Mother's Day! The burlap ribbon is pretty easy to work with. But, to be consistent with the size of my male card I trimmed the ribbon in half. Like all Burlap it tends to fray a bit so I first adhered it to a piece of scrap cardstock then trimmed it to give it a little more stability!

Superhero Birthday & Mojo Monday Sketch #276

This weekend we have the pleasure of celebrating our son's 3rd birthday with our friends who also have a son with the same birthday! Our little friend, Eric, is turning 5 and is totally into superheros so of course I needed to make him a super special birthday card!

I used Mojo Monday Sketch #276 and retired CTMH paper's for this card. The speech bubble is from Noted Canvas Shapes and I used alphabet stamps for the greeting. The superhero was colored with my new favorite markers...CTMH alcohol markers!

Mojo Monday #275 Card

I found a lot of inspiration in this weeks Mojo Monday #275 sketch.

To make this card I scissor distressed the edges of the pattern paper. The multi-color butterfly was created by using my inked sponge daubers directly on the stamp and then stamping directly on paper. 

It's hard to tell in the photo but I also stamped part of the image directly on Colonial White Cardstock. In person it gives the butterfly a shadow and makes it look like it's floating.

Mojo Monday 274

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch to create my card. The card base was cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge and the background was stamped with two of the images from the Universal Backgrounds stamp set. The owl was stamped with one of the owl images found on the Whooo's Your Valentine stamp set.

I chose to leave a sentiment off and add it when I need it. The finished size of the card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" and fits perfectly inside an A2 envelope.

I used this MOJO Monday sketch to create today's birthday card. The background was stamped using tone-on-tone ink and the Diverse Background stamp. The doily image was cut using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge and stamped with the coordinating Pirouette Stamp set. I love how so many of the CTMH stamps coordinate with their cricut cartridges!

Back To School Card

It's contest week at Mojo Monday! I played along with Sketch #253 to create this fun back to school card for my son.

 In addition to all the layers on the card I added some dimension by rolling the banner piece around my pencil. The sketch suggested a ribbon and bow on the right side but since this card is for a boy I pleated black cardstock instead. I love the way it turned out!

The papers and ink color are some of CTMH's brand new products--Scholastic and Saddle! The papers are perfect for school layouts and cards don't ya think??!! I'm working on coordinating layouts so stay tuned for those.

Mojo Monday 251 - No Stamp Version

I was cleaning my scrap room and came across this older CTMH paper and coordinating MyStickease, Twitterpated. I knew once I saw it I had to make a no-stamp greeting. It probably took me longer to photograph and load the card then to actually make it!

I used MojoMonday sketch 251 again for this card but changed up my measurements from the first card:

• Finished Card Size = A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")
• Chocolate Mat = 5" x 3 3/4"
• Left Panel = 2 14" x 3 3/4"
• Right Panels = 2 1/2" x 1 3/4"

Mojo Monday 251 ~ Birthday Version

It's been a few weeks since I've played along with the Mojo Monday sketch. Man, does it feel good to be creating again! Do you think it would be wrong to play hookie from work to keep creating??

Anyway, today is a card I made for my son's 9th birthday (which is today!!). The paper is a retired CTMH set, You Rock. I love this set for creating boy cards...especially ones for my rockin' kiddo! I used my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the cupcake out. The coordinating stamp set was the perfect finishing touch for this sweet concoction.

I used a double layer of foam tape to adhere the cupcake and add depth to the card. For the flag I used my marker to curve the paper and give it a feeling of movement. Here are my measurements for this standard A2 card (I got a little crazy with the 16th's):

• background paper: 5 7/16" x 4 1/8"
• left hand panel: 4 1/16" x 2 5/16"
• right side panels (2): 2 13/16" x 2"

Mojo Monday 246 & A Punchy Birthday Card

I knew when I saw this sketch I wanted to add some fun punching to my card. I started by stamping the present image from the Party Pennants stamp set on three Wooden Badge Buttons. Then, I placed them on the card front and marked where I wanted to punch the three 1 1/2" circles. You could easily adhere the buttons to the front but I liked the fun affect it gives when you open the card. I finished off by heat embossing a birthday sentiment to the card front.

On a side note, the buttons are self adhesive and are slightly rounded so if you do any stamping on them you need to make sure to "rock" the outside of the image to get full coverage.

Mojo Monday 244 & Graduation

We are attending a friend's graduation celebration this evening so I thought I would make a fun graduation card for the new graduate. The recipient, Joey, is a great guy that loves to rock so I figured his card needed to be a little grungy.

The inside of the card also features a pocket to hold his gift. The white cardstock is just a filler at the moment.
